I’m not sure where the plans are but you need to put up the posts and then sit and secure the roof on to them, then put the walls on.

draw low pitched triangles 18 ” or if want eaves larger
these will be your roof trusses
you need three or minimum of two
you can make them solid or frame them depending
on strength desired
you can either make these as top part of end wall
or face roof other way walls simple squares
cut doors windows or other openings first
simply mitre corners at 45 degrees to get 90 degree
corners
after joining for walls set trusses in place
at top of walls if you want an overhang or eaves
then you must extend your trusses beyond 18″ base
join with a ridge pole set below point at top of roof
so your roofing matteriel will lay flat
if still confused by process
do a search for doll house plans also bird houses
good luck happy building

if you was making a garage for your car how would you determine the size and height LOL go look at a garage and then get a idea and rescale I would say with out thinking the door on the garage would 5 to 5 1/2 feet high then give the toy truck room on each side so he can move around it in the garage and tinker on his truck
(make him feel big) I know I would if I was him oh yea and a little longer too so he has a work bench in there if he wants at the back of the garage start by putting four 4×4x6 in the ground for the corners and two 4×4x8 in the end and front of the garage in a wooden dug bow frame in the ground where it will sit for good. then pour the cement about 6 inches will do then use 2×4x8 to do the frame work from there and plywood for the roof and sides and then go cheap vinyl siding and tag the roof then roof shingles LOL It might cost more then you think. but the response you get back from your kid that is something that you can never forget!!! I did that and it was incredible and put lights in there for your kid.
even if my answer does not appeal to you I do have an extra really neat idea you could put in to the garage it would be an electric garage door opener it does not have to be the top of the line or all that I am thinking that might be under $99 or you might get a second hand unit then convert door movement then form tape the unit in your kids truck remember have 2 controllers one in his truck and you got the other.
